About
We built Years Gained because we got tired of longevity content that’s either terrifying or selling you something.
The longevity space is full of two kinds of products. There are old, ugly novelty tools that tell you when you’ll die. And there are expensive subscription apps that promise to optimize your biology if you’ll just pay $200 a month.
Both miss the point. The point isn’t the number. It’s the people you want to be around for. The grandkids you might meet. The friends who count on you. The relationships that get cut short when you check out earlier than you had to.
Most people don’t want to live longer for themselves. They want to be there for the people who matter to them.
So we built a calculator that tells you, honestly, how the choices you make every day shape that. No black box. Every number is sourced. Every factor links to the studies behind it. The math is conservative. The voice is direct. And the whole thing is free, because the credibility moat is the science, not the paywall.
What this is
A 12-question calculator that produces three personalized outputs: your projected years remaining at your current pace, a delta showing how much you could gain by changing specific things, and a six-axis “risk map” that shows you the shape of your life across movement, sleep, nutrition, mental, safety, and substances.
Three minutes, twelve questions. No signup. No data sold. Your inputs are stored anonymously so your results page works on a refresh, but they’re tied to a cookie on your browser, not to a name we’ll ever know.
What this isn’t
Years Gained is not a financial advisor, a medical advisor, a fitness coach, or a doctor. It does not diagnose, prescribe, or predict individual outcomes as facts. The numbers you see are statistical estimates from population research, not promises about your specific life. If you have specific health concerns, talk to your doctor.
This is the same legal positioning used by personal finance media, longevity podcasts, and twenty years of successful health-content brands. We’re informational and entertainment-purposed. We direct you toward licensed professionals when their help is what you need.
