We collect as little as possible.

What we collect

Calculator answers. When you take the calculator, your 12 answers are sent to our servers and stored. Your answers are tied to an anonymous session id stored as an httpOnly cookie in your browser. We do not collect your name, email address, IP address, or any other personally identifying information at calculator-submission time.

Optional email. If you opt in via the email capture on the results page, we store your email address against the launch list. We use this address only to notify you when the planning side of the product launches. You can unsubscribe at any time by replying to any email or contacting us directly.

Your IP, hashed. When you submit the email signup form, we record a SHA-256 hash of your IP address for spam-deduplication. The raw IP is never persisted.

B2B partnership inquiries. If you submit a partnership inquiry from /for-your-site, we store the company name, website, contact name, contact email, intended use case, and expected user volume. Used only for partnership follow-up.

No analytics that track you across sites. Phase 1 has no third-party trackers, no ad pixels, no Google Analytics, no Facebook tracking, no third-party cookies. We use a privacy-first self-hosted analytics product to aggregate page views and event counts (calculator completions, share clicks). No personal identifiers in the analytics stream.

What we don't collect

• Your name, address, phone number, or government identifiers
• Your medical history, medications, conditions, or any clinical information beyond what you voluntarily enter into the 12-question calculator
• Your last name in any context, even on your share card
• Your raw IP address
• Your activity outside yearsgained.com (no cross-site tracking, no advertising cookies, no third-party scripts that profile you)

What you control

You can clear your anonymous-session cookie at any time using your browser’s cookie settings. Doing so disconnects you from any prior calculator submissions you made in that browser.

You can unsubscribe from the email list at any time. We do not have any other email sequences.

You can request deletion of your data by emailing us at privacy@yearsgained.com. Phase 1 deletion is processed manually within a reasonable time. Anonymous calculator sessions automatically expire after 90 days regardless.

State-law specifics

Residents of California, Virginia, Washington, and other states with specific health data privacy laws may have additional rights — including the right to know what data we hold about them, the right to correct inaccuracies, and the right to deletion. We honor these requests. Email privacy@yearsgained.com with the specific request and we’ll respond within the timeframe required by your jurisdiction.

Years Gained does not collect data from anyone we know to be under 18.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle data, we’ll update this page and revise the “Last updated” date at the top. For material changes that affect data we already hold, we’ll notify users on the launch list by email before the change takes effect.
